Centers
Prof. Tomás Palacios manages two centers within Microsystems Technology Laboratories at MIT. Scroll down for more information on these. Apart from these, Prof. Palacios is also the Director and Industry Officer for the 6A Program within the EECS Alliance. 6A is an internship program for students enrolled in the MEng. (Masters in Engineering) program within the School of Engineering. Apart from serving at MIT, Tomás is also co-founder of Finwave Semiconductor based in Cambridge, MA.
MIT-MTL Center for Graphene Devices and 2D Systems
MIT-MTL Center for Graphene Devices and 2D Systems (MIT-CG) brings together, MIT researchers and industrial partners to advance the science and engineering of graphene-based technologies. The center explores advanced technologies and strategies that enable graphene-based materials, devices and systems to provide discriminating or break-through capabilities for a variety of system applications ranging from energy generation and smart fabrics and materials, to RF communications and sensing. The MIT-CG supports the development of the science, technology, tools and analysis to create a vision for the future of graphene-enabled systems.
The Center website graphene.mit.edu is now migrated to this website. Visit the Archives link for the center from 2011-2018.
Welcome to the website of the MIT/MTL Gallium Nitride (GaN) Energy Initiative (MIT-GaN). This inter-departmental program brings together, MIT researchers and industrial partners to advance the science and engineering of GaN-based materials and devices for energy applications.
The Center explores advanced technologies and strategies that enable GaN-based materials, devices and systems to provide discriminating or break-through capabilities for a variety of system applications ranging from RF power amplification, to energy processing and power management, as well as advanced optoelectronics. The MIT-GaN is focused on GaN materials and devices which are compatible with Si fabrication technologies and works with industrial partners to accelerate the insertion of these devices into systems.
The Center website gan.mit.edu is now migrated to this website. Visit the Archives link for the center from 2012-2018.
